GUIDANCE FOR YOUR SHIPMENT
EVERYDAY PRODUCTS CAN BE DANGEROUS GOODS
Lithium batteries, gas cylinders and some paints and cleaning products can be dangerous goods. Declare them even in small quantities or when they are part of equipment.
Prepare the details below for your enquiry. This checklist does not replace transport documents or the correct classification of the goods.

Product and classification
- Product name and manufacturer. Send the safety data sheet (SDS), if available; section 14 contains transport information.
- UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class and packing group where applicable. Obtain these from the supplier or a qualified person; do not guess the classification.
Quantity and packaging
- Quantity of each substance, number of packages and packaging type. Include net weight or litres, total packed weight and package dimensions.
- Send photos of the packaging and labels. Packaging must suit the substance and transport method; an ordinary box is not always sufficient.
Route and contacts
- Collection location, destination, ready date and preferred arrival date.
- Sender and recipient names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. Mention batteries, damaged goods or waste in the shipment.
Documents and confirmation
- Send any transport documents and product information you already have. An SDS does not replace a required transport document.
- Clarify classification, packaging, labels and required declarations before handover. Ask Safari to confirm whether the shipment can be accepted on the intended route.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are the rules the same for every route?
No. Road, sea and air transport have different requirements. Faroese road transport rules are not identical to Danish ADR rules. The whole journey needs to be assessed.
Do I need to declare small quantities?
Yes. Smaller quantities may qualify for some concessions, but are not automatically exempt from the rules. Specify the product and quantity so the appropriate procedure can be checked.
What if I do not know the classification?
Ask the supplier for the SDS and transport information. Send us what you have and explain what is missing. Do not hand over the shipment as ordinary cargo while its status is unresolved.
