TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE FAROES

PREPARE FOR YOUR ANIMAL’S JOURNEY

For your enquiry, have the species, breed, age, number of animals and their weights ready. Include the departure and destination, preferred travel dates and whether the owner will travel with the animal.

Send the crate dimensions and total weight with the animal, preferably with a photo of the crate. Tell us about any special needs and which animal documents you already have. Confirm the transport arrangements before buying a crate or making final travel plans.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I get advice about transporting an animal?

Contact Safari and tell us which animal needs to travel, between which countries and when. We can help with your enquiry.

Is a pet passport enough to enter the Faroes?

No. Dogs and cats need a valid permit from Heilsufrøðiliga starvsstovan. Check eligibility and conditions with HFS before booking the journey.

Read the guidance

How do I choose a transport crate?

Your animal must have room to stand and sit upright, turn around and lie naturally. Send the animal’s measurements and the proposed crate dimensions, and have the carrier confirm that the crate is suitable before buying it.
